From Magnum — Bruised apple. Some signs of aging. Should improve. — 5 years ago
2007 vintage. Nice fill. Used a Durand to open but good cork nonetheless. Decanted and tasted after 15 minutes. JFC...does the oak ever die on this nonsense? Tried to bushwhack through it without success. Even the Alexander Valley product has the good sense to have the oak minimized/integrated/drop off after a decade. Not the case here. There's a reason why I haven't even considered carrying this on a wine list since the late 90's. This go round didn't exactly convert my opinion. 8.16.26. — 17 days ago
Great vineyard for this wine. Better than others I have had. Soft, round, and fruity. Random Tuesday watching Brewers put Cuba back into second place. — 3 months ago
I’ve had better Napa Cabernets, but not many. From magnum.
This is elegance refined.
Black currants, black berries, black raspberries, both plums into pudding, black cherries, strawberries, raspberry hues, mid berry cola/licorice, mocha powder, dark chocolate brownies, layered baking spices, soft spices w/ a bit of a punch, caramel, anise to black licorice, dry tobacco & used leather, dry crushed rocks, cedar, dry herbs, touch of eucalyptus, dark withering to candied flowers, grand, round acidity, lush, round, balanced, knitted, elegant, smartly polished finish that last minutes and falls on malt ball, softened earth & spice.
Minus a point for a hint of bandaid on the nose that didn’t affect the palate. — 10 months ago

2016 delicious — 5 years ago
Clear, deep ruby in color; on the nose, it’s clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of plums, black cherries, and cedar; on the palate, it’s dry with medium plus acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of red plums, blackberries, and clay pots with a long finish. Needs a little time to breath. This wine is intense and complex. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. It paired really well with mustard and Nellie agrees. Nellie liked it with food. — 2 days ago
Mmmm - delicious! Quite full bodied with a deep ruby red color. Enjoyed with red meat and all by itself. Flavors of blackberry, plum and dark cherry. — 9 months ago

2019 vintage. Coming across as more of a Mount Veeder or Spring Mountain imbroglio instead of Howell Mountain. Granted, it was PNP. Wine needed a little more than the venerable three hour tour to right affairs and avoid the shipwreck. I say, Lovey, if we ever get off this island...8.12.26. — 21 days ago
