Taurasi Aglianico

Donnachiara Taurasi 2020
Taurasi DOCG, Campania, Italy

A distinguished red crafted from 100% Aglianico, hand-harvested at peak ripeness. The grapes undergo a 15-day maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation in French barriques. The wine then matures 12 months in barrique before an additional 24 months of bottle ageing prior to release.

Aromatics: Deep and intense, with layers of blackberry, plum, and cherry intertwined with notes of cacao and roasted coffee.

Palate: Bone-dry and full-bodied, framed by firm tannins. Warm, dry, and soft on entry, evolving into an elegant, well-structured mid-palate with notable persistence. Built for long-term cellaring yet already showing remarkable character.

Pairing: Outstanding with pasta in rich, full-bodied sauces, grilled steak, game meats, and long-aged cheeses.

Calafe

Ariavecchia Greco di Tufo 2018

Nose: sweet white flowers and minerals.

Palate: sweet minerals. Liquid white flowers. An elegant richness. Perfect balance.

Finish is long with just the faintest hint of honey.

This wine should not be this good. But there is a perfection about it. When you get a great bottle it’s just insane.

Vigna Cinque Querce Taurasi Aglianico 2015

9.2

WS: 93. Suave and harmonious, with a firm frame of fine-grained tannins married to ripe black and red currant fruit, iron and ash, anise, black tea leaf and citrus peel notes. This expands on the palate and through the long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2035. 950 cases made, 400 cases imported.

"Giallo d'Arles" Greco di Tufo DOCG 2018

An interesting history of the Greco di Tufo grape which I won’t detail here (has its own DOCG) - a late ripening Campanian white grape. This wine had a luscious full bodied mid palate - apricots - with a refreshing acid cut. Next night a fruit salad of flavours including mandarin and guava. A great white wine as the weather cools down. — 3 months ago

@Ming L Agreed. Their Italian whites are wonderful. I am not familiar with their reds, if they make any.

Loggia Della Serra Greco di Tufo 2021

Pale golden yellow color with aromas of stone fruit, citrus and herb spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple with slight citrus and honey notes and herb spice. Good acidity, balance and structure, medium+ finish ending with earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — 4 months ago

Feudi di San Gregorio

Greco di Tufo

This is a wine that fits perfect on a hot summer day sitting outside enjoying the weather. Incredibly crisp and fresh, with the perfect amount of acidity. Pale in color, with great minerality. Very very good and would drink again — 2 months ago
