With a table full of giants , for many this was the WOTD. Text book Rayas on the nose; strawberry, cherry, spices and kirsch.
This is a wine that makes love to your palate. Teasing and caressing your mouth with harmonious waves of elegant and balanced fruit. A great Rayas in a poor vintage for CDP. However for me the partner in life is the 2005 , which has complexity and concentration that puts that one in the Hall of Fame along with ‘78, ‘90 & ‘95 — 3 years ago
Vanilla, fruit, a bit of spice! Medium full body. — 6 years ago
WotN in a group of giants. Ping-pongy fireworks of flavor bursts none of which cancels out the others. Kept coming back to this. Wow. — a year ago
45 min decant(little cloudy sediment). An exquisite dark ruby red color. On the nose: Nice delicate nose of sour cherry, spice, orange peel, vanilla, and some cedar. Taste: Wow!! A velvety palate draws you in with black cherry, pepper, earth, and a juicy minerally cedar long finish.
A perfect wine to celebrate (pizza and pinot) the SF Giants NL West win today!....hey evil Dodgers, have fun playing St. Louis on Wednesday (NOT!) — 5 years ago
