Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck Katerloch Riesling 2024

Smells like a Riesling, honey and citrus, sweetness that isn't overpowering and is balanced by some minerality. Perfect pairing for spicy food! — 3 months ago

Magic Mountain Rüdesheimer Riesling

13% a big Riesling for the area - Rheingau. Quite dieseled aka kerosene already. Nice but a little to simple for me. Mostly mandarine driven. Some tannins. Hint meyer lemon. Seems sweet despite the high. % for a white. — 2 years ago

Rüdesheimer Berg Schloßberg Trocken Riesling 2016

2h decant.
Baked lemons, ripe peach, a herby, slightly bitter orange and a dollop of honey.
On the palette this is creamy, quite rich yet with the typical steely lemon acidity. A mineral edge, great purity & depth. Linear yet with nice edges around.
Amazing. And so delicious.

Eins Zwei Dry 2023

From Total Wines and more. This place essentially sucks when it comes to wines especially if you look for Riesling. But i needed a decent Gin and bought some wine. Citrus driven, touch herbs, salty light and dry. VERY dependable! Good quaffable party wine. 9.0 because the excellent 23 vintage shows. — 4 months ago

Rüdesheimer Drachenstein Riesling 2001

I didn’t get anything on the nose. Completely closed off and holding back. On the palate a different story. Vibrant, juicy acidity, some apricot and the color is so inviting . This is not classified with the typical German ripeness monikers, but judging by the balanced sweetness and alcohol level I would say it’s an Auslese. German Riesling + age = match made in heaven. — 3 years ago

Rudesheimer Berg Kaisersteinfels Terrassen Riesling 2012

Bright shiny yellow in the glass. On the nose there is lemon-oil, grated ginger, cottoncandy and lovely earthy, funky notes of matchstick/flintstone reduction..!
Palate: creamy, soft acidity, lemoncurd, and powdery mineral nuances.
Gorgeous!!

Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Spätlese Riesling 2019

Thick body, with an array of stone fruit & white flowers on palate. Found it to be a bit meh in mid palate & in its acidity. — 4 years ago

Too bad. I usually stick with his dry/trocken versions.

I’ve experienced some of his Kabinetts as quite electric & chiseled. I can’t discount the fact I haven’t had a spatlese in a while, so my palate just out of practice

Rüdesheimer Bischofsberg Riesling 2018

From a hot vintage this explodes in the glass with ripe peach, pineapple & mango with some baked lemons and a healthy dose of steely rocky minerality. There’s a hint of creaminess, too.
On the palate this is also slightly richer, opulent, almost Mediterranean (think: Assyrtiko).
Round & ripe with peach, mango and some orange zest with juicy herby acidity balancing it all out. Chamomile and a whiff of honey and some crushed rocks towards the long finish.
Although fully Trocken, in this vintage this is much closer to a Spätlese in style.
I do prefer my Rheingau Rieslings drier, sharper, zippier & leaner, but this one has charm and character.
And it‘s delicious sipping.
