The palate reminded me of a liqueur kind of medicinal and manufactured. — 4 months ago
Oh this is a good one! Beautiful vanilla nose! Dark rich color. Balanced throughout. Short mineral finish with a little cranberry. Low to medium tannins. Would buy again — 5 months ago
This is quite youthful and seems on the natty side, but not too much so. Also seems like it was deliberately picked on the not-quite-ripe side. The nose is super-bright, with crunchy little purple mountain berries and pink peppercorns. A bit of cured beef too. In the mouth, the acids are through the roof, overriding some nice, crisp, dark berry flavors. There is a bare hint of barnyard funk too. Very nice length. Overall it’s got a lot of character but seems a little disjointed. Picking a tad riper may have made a better wine, but it wouldn’t have made a “statement,” which I think was what was primarily behind this wine. — 5 months ago
Parker gave it a 94- was expecting it to drink like a 92-93- it drank like a 91-92.

unique flavor, small barrel — 3 months ago
Upon opening some fruit in the nose as well as some pepper. Moderate tanning on tasting as it opened up the fruit went away and it’s a little more peppery enjoyable. — 4 months ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice, aged for 16 months on French oak, 58% new, vineyard planted in 1991. On the palate concentrated flavors of strawberry and black cherry with orange citrus, herbs, vanilla and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, floral, spice and oaky tones. Very Nice! Will age! — 2 days ago
