Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 1988

Birthday wine. Such a special treat. Still loads of acidity like we woke up a giant. Subtle fruit with stamped out tannins. Truly a treat. — 2 years ago

@Chris Buggy I found the 2011 for $39.99 recently! An under appreciated wine, no doubt.

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2019

Pri
9.2

Easy to drink right out of the bottle. Even better after it opens a bit. Not too fruit forward and pairs well with a variety of foods. — 2 years ago

Eric Rodez

Blanc de Noirs Champagne Blend

A rather lovely old gold color with tiny bubbles. The nose features pronounced dried cherries and a plethora of apples. Toasted almonds and smoke with crusty bread. There’s an element of orange peel here that’s really attractive.

100% Pinot Noir from Ambonnay from one of the undisputed masters. It’s a generous champagne with depth and structure for days. Nicely elegant and perfect for food pairings. Moderate acidity and everything is just so well integrated here. The palate follows the nose with more ripe red fruits and oak. Great length on the finish. Outstanding stuff.

Château Beychevelle

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1982

1982 vintage. From magnum. Decanted for approx 3 hours before tasting. Better color than expected. Good amount of sed on the decant. Decent amount of color along with a light body. Nose not overwhelmingly fantastic but respectable. Plenty of cocoa flavor along with tobacco spices on the finish. Pretty solid concentration remaining. This was in the maximized pleasure zone but feeling it being closer to the end than the start of the zone. Out of maggie, maybe another 4-5 really nice years. From a 750ml example? Thinking drinking now. 3.2.23. — 2 years ago

Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona

Pianrosso Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Dried cherries and dusty Italian churches. Beginning to soften. I’ll be drinking the rest sooner than later. 2016 vintage on 02/23 — 2 years ago

Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2019

I wish all Chianti tasted like Felsina. Ok, yes it was a warm & ripe & fruity vintage, but there’s still a lot of depth & nuance that doesn’t get lost: Rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, black and red cherry, black plum pit, a touch of roast meat. Aromatic & supple, well-managed tannins. Bravo 👏🏻 — 2 years ago
