Leeuwin Estate

Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2011

Typical nose of an Art Series Chardonnay with that dried pear character. On the medium weight palate a nice combination of ripe grapefruit and under ripe yellow peach. Medium minus acid. One can’t help but love this Chardonnay. A wonderful terroir, the Gin Gin clone, great winemaking, and an excellent vintage - ticks all the boxes. At its peak but enough acid for a few more years if you wish. That was my last bottle of the 2011. — a month ago

@Doug Powers Yes Doug. A good spot for lunch as well where you can get some seriously aged Art Series Chardonnay to go with your fresh WA Marron. Mouth watering just thinking about that.

Leeuwin Estate

Art Series Margaret River Shiraz 2018

A Margaret River-producer from the beginning, whose inception was coached by Mondavi; deep purple; nose of dark mulberry, black currant, ripe cherries, black pepper, anise and nutmeg; showing great on the palate, forceful yet elegant, with tannins, ripe fruit, acid levels and alcohol in good harmony, and a long dry finish. Promising future. — 3 years ago

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2003

The estate once belonged to the famous Lynch family, of Irish origin, acquired by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1934. His grandson, Jean-Michel Cazes restructured the estate in 1974, with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment. Primarily Cab Sauv, with Merlot, Cab Franc & Petit Verdot in the blend. Deep Ruby, complex nose, aged well, round berry fruit flavors, blackberry and plum with an oak character, elegant with soft tannins, a delicious wine ending with delicate fruit, oak and mineral notes. Great! — 4 years ago

Idisma Drios Drama Assyrtiko 2020

Really enjoyable wine. Had the 2020 in July of 2024 with Greek lemon chicken, tzatziki and a salad. Hints of lemon with some creamy vanilla overtones. Super interesting. Would drink again. — 4 months ago

Art Series Margaret River Riesling 2020

Pale straw . Lemon and lime with some petrol hints ,green herbs , white flower notes as well . Light bodied with high acidity , green apple , lime and grapefruit . Very fresh , high acidity , leaves the palate very fresh , lively . Touch of fresh green herbs on the ok length finish . Would prefer to leave this 2 or 3 years , just to fill out a little more in the bottle and will last well a further 10 or so . — 5 months ago

Art of Earth

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019

This wine certainly smells like it is the art of the earth. There are abundant minerals to go along with the ripe, red cherry aromas and the sweet oak on the nose. The palate follows suit and lays in a racy acidity on top of the firm tannins. Spaghetti Bolognese, please.
