Wildcard. Prob my fav cuvée from Julien. Tasted aged even tho it’s a 21. Flowery quality to it, like roses, potpourri.
[2019 Vintage:] “A captivating, translucent ruby red hue. Even on the nose alone, there is already a suggestion of ripeness, yet it is utterly enveloped by fragrance: white flowers, grapefruit, cherry, even stony minerals. Really classy and effusive, replete with sapid pinot-esque flavours of enviable concentration. The vintage is quite magical here: all pure, palate-staining but also inexplicably airy in the mouth. The mouthfeel is silky, culminating in a persistent, gentle and thoroughly sweet-fruited long finish held together by an invisible frame. Like the ethereal cuvée Auguste, trails of crushed flower petals replicate and repeat on the lingering finish.” AC
“Guillot brings a unique perspective to gamay—not quite Burgundy, not yet Beaujolais—not only in his Mâcon Rouge and Mâcon-Cruzille, but the mysterious, radiant, field-blended Cuvée 910.” Jon Bonné — 3 years ago
Had 2018 under quarantine on July 25, 2020. Liked it. Nice and crisp but not overly so. Mineral. Lush. — 6 years ago
Dry, complex, with a nuttiness and slight sense of oxidation. The Macle of Sake? — 8 years ago
One of my favourite 2007s, and this is my last bottle. And that’s really too bad, it’s still drinking so nicely, still highly enjoyable. — 5 days ago

First wine of 2020! (not including Charles Heidsieck ‘06, Bérèche Brut Reserve & Macle ‘09 after midnight on NYE).
Drank on New Year’s Day with roast pork shoulder, spiced gammon, roast potatoes, apple sauce and a cider & onion gravy.
No tasting note but the wine was in great shape with that lovely saline tangy finish and worked very well with the meat and crackling. — 7 years ago
Deep, rich and enveloped within a delicate creaminess here is a Northern Rhône white that deserves its praise. The fruit is soft and doesn’t overlay the mineral component. I really like this one. — 8 years ago
Rich and full bodied. Nose of savoury black plums. So flavoursome - sumptuous, mouth filling and satisfying. One of the more enjoyable reds I’ve had of recent times. From the excellent 2016 vintage. This is the first of 2 bottles. Next one towards the end of 2027 or early 2028. — a month ago

Subtle spice. Excellent body. Earthiness I crave. Paired beautifully with steak and frites. — 7 years ago
Very good rose, not oak-y at all. — 8 years ago

Initially this shows just a trace of threshold level TCA (?), iodine, raw meat, some smoke aromas as well, rich and complex, seems a little more refined that the 1990 Sorrel Hermitage “Le Greal”, but without the incredible depth and sheer power of that wine, another great northern Rhone Syrah!! — 12 days ago
