Dark garnet color with some brown highlights and slightly orange rim. Aromas of dried red fruit, forest floor, leather and a touch of menthol. Flavors of dried plum and black cherry fruit, dark chocolate, black licorice, beef jerky and roasted nuts. Plentiful baking spice notes on the long and grippy finish. Quite dense with firm tannins. This is a really tasty Roero Arneis that has green apple and floral notes on the nose. The flavors come through to the palate where lemon notes and a crunchy minerality emerge. The finish has a bitter saline quality with apple notes that linger on the palate. Really tasty. Med/full bodied with med/high acidity. — 2 months ago

I don't spend a lot on Chianti. In the $20 range there are plenty of winners and losers. This is pretty good. Juicy cherries, chewy tannins, vibrant acidity. Better than the average 8.7 score it's received.
