Always seem to get grapefruit with these NZ PN. Fun to try different stuff from NZ. — 2 months ago

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2018

A pleasant surprise! Very nice with aromas of forest floor and black cherry. On the bud, there is sour cherry, figs, and earthy. Smooth with a spice note. — 5 months ago

Mature Vine Pinot Noir 2019

Just a remarkably integrated pinot with some fresh flowers, plums, twigs, and just a hint of cranberry. — 7 months ago

Rabbit Ranch

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021

Pale ruby in color; cherries, hibiscus, and cloves on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium minus tannins; tastes like raspberries, tart cherries, and wet slate with a long finish. Nellie doesn't like it (she says it's tart and chimically), but I love it. — 4 months ago

Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc

Clear and clean. Smells of pears and fresh crisp stone fruits but tasted of white melon, honeysuckle, and candied lemon. — 6 months ago

Lake Wanaka Mature Vine Riesling 2020

Lime zest, coriander, tangerine, minerals, hints of honey, petrol, and dairy cream. Wonderful finish that reminds me of peaches and cream, really elevating what's a more subtle nose. — a month ago

Block 2 Central Otago Chardonnay 2022

Aetheric and elegant and so Burgundian.
Ripe yellow apple, (over)ripe lemon, subtle butterscotch, shortbread and some nice, cool minerality.
Amazing purity and precision here. Blind - a classic, textbook Puligny!
Beautiful balance on the palate, a touch of creaminess but brilliant precision - creamy lemons on a bed of rocky, stony minerality. Great depth and energy here. And elegance. And length. This is complex and complete and bordering on profound. And yet, so drinkable! The bottle disappeared instantly!
A perfect modern, cool climate Chardonnay?
What a wine!!

Mount Edward

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2021

For $49, this is great p/q. Less heavy than Neuendorf, and a touch more complex and balanced than Rockburn for the same money. There is the dark fruited spice of central otago but with a more burgundian acid and tannin profile. Savoury and long. — 6 months ago
