The palate is already beautiful, silky, sweet and elegant, with tremendous purity, juiciness and vivid cherry fruit. Late-breaking Nebbiolo tannins build steadily across the palate, while the finish explodes with intense mid-season cherry and remarkable persistence. The 2020 Gattinara is elegant and lifted. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon and orange peel grace this ethereal, nuanced Gattinara. Bright saline notes and sweet red-toned fruit build into the long, persistent finish. Understated and silky, the 2020 is exquisite. All this needs is a few years to soften. Absolutely stunning nose, already operating around 9.8, with wet earth, mud, decaying and desiccated leaves, damson cherry, chestnut, massive spice and florals everywhere. Haunting, complex and unmistakably mature Nebbiolo. The palate is still much younger than the nose, with beautiful purity and freshness, dark sweet Nebbiolo fruit, classical delineation, enormous concentration and dense cheek-coating tannins. The finish is ridiculously long and persistent, suggesting there is still much more to come with air. 9.6 for now. — a month ago

A very elegant wine - attenuated nose of plum/cherry. Palate is more of the same but rather mineral and filtered quite elegantly through a tannic structure buttressed by just enough acidity. The structure really shines. Long finish & miles to go. A lovely wine from @Lyle Fass 😍 — 4 years ago
