Evening Land Vineyards

Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

I really like what Evening Land does in general and their Pinots in particular. Lovely nose with some good cherry. Balanced mouthfeel with good dark red fruit and some nice herby notes. Acid is medium but works well to hold it together and the persistence is good. Really quite enjoyable. — 14 days ago

Flor Ballard Canyon Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend

The Jonata “Flor” is a damn good reason to fall back in love with Sauvignon Blanc (wish a dash of Semillon). Fresh and crisp yet lush and silky- all at the same time. And it evolves. From the nose to every bit of the palate, the “Flor” is a masterpiece. — 7 days ago

Todos Ballard Canyon Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

2019 vintage. Jonata's entry-level red juice. Not too shabby. Everything, including the kitchen sink, they make on the red side included. 01.29.25. — a month ago

Ridge Vineyards

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend 2018

2018. Probably my favorite Ridge Zinfandel that I’ve had. Could be that I found it in Delta Junction and wasn’t expecting it to be this delicious, or that it paired great with our homemade chicken parmigiana. — a month ago

La Sangre de Jonata Ballard Canyon Syrah 2015

Even better than the crazy-good 2007, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata is sheer perfection in a glass and up with the finest Syrahs ever made in California! Checking in as a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, aged in barrel, its saturated purple color is followed by out of this world aromatics black raspberries, smoked earth, graphite, game, violets and freshly crushed rock-like minerality. — 6 days ago

Sounds crazy, given the pricing, but underrated stuff.
