Stolpman never fails! Downed this vintage with a meatball sub. Not overly grippy, the Sangiovese and Grenache do this wine wonders. Earthy berries, spice, and tar. Just delightful. — a month ago
Even better than the crazy-good 2007, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata is sheer perfection in a glass and up with the finest Syrahs ever made in California! Checking in as a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, aged in barrel, its saturated purple color is followed by out of this world aromatics black raspberries, smoked earth, graphite, game, violets and freshly crushed rock-like minerality. — 2 months ago
A blend of about 50% Syrah, rest Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Viognier & Merlot. Deep inky Ruby color with complex aromas of dark fruit, spice, almonds and wet earth. On the palate blackberry, currant and raspberry flavors, soft tannins on a long finish ending with leather, pepper, smoke and oak tones. Very Nice, a beauty. — a month ago
Raspberries, smooth and refined tannins — 13 hours ago
Tasting the ‘22 vintage. Ballard Canyon’s best. Beautiful Syrah. — 13 days ago
Nice one! Opened up after some time! Full bloom of cherries red fruit and rounded profile. Served at lunch with Ma Lewis in Newport and very well received. — 2 months ago

Big, rich and ripe blue and black fruit aromas and flavors, great balance, usually Joey’s richest Syrah in every vintage, long, lingering finish, should easily last 5-10 additional years, yummy! — 8 days ago
