After my recent white Burgh come to Jesus experience. I must say in 22 W-Burghs are the shit despite the $$$. They are stunning. More to come. Worth the extra 30$ yes. The US counter punch the 22 Mark Enfield Watson Ranch at 1/2 the price - typically his top wine - was just too linear and less exciting in this particular vintage. So i threw in this 22 Hirsch. Honeyed Melon on the nose. Lacks a tad of acidity. Quite tropical and almost sweet. 13.7%. Touch hazelnut already and relative dark yellow. Seems too highly extracted. Definitely a crowd pleaser - but this at least today is not my kind of wine. Too rich. 65$. Just can’t match the finesse of the chiseled Bachelet -Monnot 22 white Burghs. And pricy for what it has to offer. More WB tastings to come - but soon i am done! Spend enough. — 18 days ago
Great Chardonnay, crisp with bountiful flavors with a smooth finish — 17 days ago
Been a while since I last opened one these bad boys. Still young but great bottle. Tons of precision. — a month ago
Day one too tight,
Day 2 with a 2-3 hour decant is just about right.
Saxum may not be Napa but they know what they are doing,
Best winery in Paso.
Parker Review
RP96 Incorporating more Petite Sirah than normal, and the first time there's been less than 50% Syrah, the 2013 Syrah Broken Stones is made from 48% Syrah, 22% Petite Sirah, 17% Grenache, 6% Mourvedre the rest Tempranillo and Roussanne. Its deep, inky color is followed by a structured, seriously mineral-laced and full-bodied red that offers lots of fruit (cassis, black cherries and raspberries), smoked earth and chocolate aromas and flavors. The tannin is front and center, yet they're beautifully ripe and polished. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy through 2028 — 9 days ago
2002 vintage. Decanted and tasted 15 minutes and 1 hour after decanting. Slight amount of sediment. Cedar, cinnamon and traces of bacon fat in the nose along with a splash of VA. The VA blew off and wasn’t there after 1 hour but was hanging out at the onset. Medium heavy body with another 5-7 years likely dropping this to medium body. Smoked meats, bigg dark plum and roasted nuts still part and parcel during. No rush to crush. 10.28.25. — 19 days ago
