Purple-grenat dress, semi-deep, beautiful shine. Deep herbal nose, more than fruity, smoked breeding note, earthy, sweet spices, pepper. Light body, with material and intensity to withstand several years of aging and still evolve. Has not yet reached full maturity. At D+2 it expanded. A fairly sober, but promising, Beaujolais on guard.
— 3 years ago

Nez terre et poivrons rouge cuit
Bouche fraîche belle équilibre mais manquant de corps en milieu de bouche finale sur la violette — 6 years ago
Some underbrush and cherry on the nose. As it evolves more orange citrus notes come out. All follows through on the palate with nice fresh acidity and soft tannins. — 7 years ago

Chenas for the win. Light but flavorful. — 7 years ago
To be honest, I actually prefer the Chenas I had earlier this year in Japan... But in the same spirit, this was super glou-glou. Bright, fresh, juicy, light, and super expressive. Only issue I have is the perception of RS. Could be the super sweet fruit though... — 8 years ago
Moulin-à-Vent AOC extends from the town of Romaneche-Thorins to Chenas. Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruit with notes of sweet spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with licorice, floral, spice and earthy notes. Fine dusty tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice and mineral character. — 3 years ago
Bright garnet color with ruby highlights. Aromas and flavors of ripe red berry fruit. A pleasant “stemmy” green quality along with an earthy/mineral note. Long finish and nice dry tannins. Vibrant acidity. Dense texture and a bit of heft. Beautifully fresh tasting. Revisited in July of 2023. Still fantastic! — 4 years ago
Light, well-balanced wine! — 5 years ago
Great bottle of this. Tons of crunchy red fruit and minerality. — 7 years ago
Amazing how much there is left to discover. Chenas, so under the radar, is on par with the best of Beaujolais.
This is exceedingly well balanced, complexed - full bodied but feminine. Aromas exude youth - fresh berries and perfumed flowers. Little bit of orange and raspberry - good chew and acid with velvety plush. Zero tannin nod to Guy Breton - every bit as good. — 7 years ago
