Spice, smoke, cloves, leather, blackberry/dark fruits. Medium plus body, dusty tannins 2019 vintage ..opened too soon but delicious — 2 years ago
Dry Chaume! It’s like a reductive, lean brother to Savennieres. It has a tense/saline nose with fresh apples, hazelnuts, flint and smoke. Palate is minerally and super focused, persistent acidity, alcohol in balance. It will take time to develop — 3 years ago
Disney Sequoia Lodge. Decent St Emillion. Deep, slight leathery feel, deep plum and black fruits. Smooth drinking and opened up with a bit of airing. — a year ago

2024 vintage. The first time I tasted this very rare grape variety, it was saved from extinction by Philippe and Diane Cauvin at Domaine La Colombière. These days a few estates produce Bouysselet wines, and intriguingly Château Anthonic in Moulis, grafted Bouysselet on Merlot vines, with the first production expected in 2025. I suspect this is produced from young vines, but the resulting wine is very interesting. The closest thing that comes to mind is Chenin Blanc, but it seems to have a character of its own. I will taste a few others soon. Abv. 13,5%. — 3 months ago
