Love. Black cherry, mushrooms, thyme. Earthy and so so delicious — 6 years ago
Clos Saint‑Jacques is often hailed as the “Musigny” of Gevrey‑Chambertin. It combines the signature power and structure of Gevrey with the elegance and finesse of Vosne‑Romanée, and Armand Rousseau’s bottling has always been remarkably consistent.
2004 was a challenging vintage—a weak year in which many grapes failed to reach full ripeness. Now that it has entered its drinking window, it opens up quite nicely. This is not a flamboyant style; instead, it leans more toward herbaceous notes and bay leaf, with hints of florals and red cherry. It has a mineral quality, yet without the saline or briny character often found in other Gevrey vineyards. The acidity is well‑balanced. The overall bouquet is delicately fresh, reserved rather than exuberant, yet persistent, and it doesn’t evolve dramatically over time. — 14 days ago
A very fragrant nose. In the mouth lots of red fruit. hints of plum and earth. Very drinkable. A wine to enjoy today. — 3 months ago

Estate named Beau-Séjour in 1787 by General Jacques de Carle, proprietor at the time. Michel Bécot bought estate from Dr Jean Fagouet in 1969 increasing vines from 10.5 hectares to 15, acquiring Trois Moulins plateau in 1979, kept the name Beau-Séjour Bécot. Blend of 87% Merlot, 9% Cab Sauv & 4% Cab Franc. Nice berry aromas, ripe cherry & fresh raspberry flavors with notes of sweet cacao & tobacco adding some toasty notes. Firm tannins, not overpowering, lingering ending with tangy sweet oak.Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago

One of my favorite wines we get almost nothing of. Pure class in 23. Gorgeous, floral aromas, black cherry, hint of reduction, limestone galore. The palate is young but with extraordinary fruit. Pure. Zero hard edges and really energetic. Acid is on point. Such sweet fruit developing with air. So sappy and dense. Unreal. Wow. Nose now confectionary blackberry and black raspberry. Fun Dip powders. And the stick kind of. Palate gets elegant with such fruit authority. Unbelievably delicious. But has a decade plus and will benefit greatly. — 6 months ago
An average Merlot from the region. Leather and cherry. Not complex but fine with Italian food. May 2024. — 2 years ago

Medium dark rubi robe, no fading, nose of crushed roses, asian spices and a hint of cedar wood. Very elegant and complex on the mouth, medium bodied, excellent length, an aerial and complex grand cru for the ages. No rush but drinking great now. — 20 days ago
