Yes…I know..a tad too early. But any chateau that has a lighthouse (built 1611 AD) in the middle of its vineyards deserves a look. And I’m so glad I did. Classic Bordeaux profile made up of 60% Cab, 35% Merlot, and 5% Petit V. With a QPR of $18 this Mèdoc is simply crushing it. Cellar worthy? Absolutely! 😎 — a month ago

Floral and fruity. Not dry at all. Honeysuckle with a hint of minerality — 15 days ago

Delicious Haut-Medoc Bordeaux, with dark fruit notes and silky tannin, served at family dinner in Toronto — 3 months ago
The 2016 Canon has a clean and fresh nose. The fruit profile is a mixture of red and black with just a hint of black truffle and licorice (the latter a trait that I had not picked up before). The palate is medium-bodied with finer tannins than the bottle four years ago, has a little more assertiveness and grip in situ, and is perhaps firmer and prepared for long-term maturation. It's precise on the finish. I would give this another few years in bottle. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the Icons of Bordeaux dinner at Legacy Records in New York. Deep red fruit, cassis, slightly dusty. Explodes at first, then recedes with time. Wow. — 12 days ago
