My Arnoux-Lachaux day. Had the 2017 Romanee St. Vivant at lunch. A 2018 Clos de Vougeot at 6 pm and this NSG at 10 pm. It holds its own with those two grand crus. All of these wines are full bodied but they display an incredible elegance. Red fruit and great salinity with a touch of acid to create great balance. For me Charles Lachaux has reached superstar status in 2018 with unfortunately prices to match. That is what makes this wine so great, it is still relatively affordable and scores almost as good as the two grand crus tasted earlier. — 4 years ago
Calon’s third, but still very classic left bank! Bramble berries, cedar, a hint of graphite. Right in the sweet spot! — 4 months ago
Chapelle de Meyney ("the Chapel of Meyney"), second wine of Chateau Meyney, one of the oldest estates in the Medoc. Deep Ruby red color, purple hues, with aromas of black fruits, herb, tobacco and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plums and black currants with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy spice and cedar character. Starting to drink well now. — 10 months ago
I usually am not such a great fan of MSG. I find the wines too harsh, too masculine. This is a great MSG, lighter, feminine, full of sumptuous red fruit, precise and delineated closer to a Vosne than a MSG with great balance. Enjoyable (a bit too much) but another 10 years in it. Above all still affordable which can’t be said of the other wines of this emerging (for me he has emerged) super star. Got enough of it to carry me for 10 years but afraid it is too good to forego. — 4 years ago

Nose is deep, charming and complex. In the mouth it enters with strength and bitterness which turns into herbal freshness towards the end.
