Chateau Saint Jacques D'albas

Louis Latour

Lavaut Saint-Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2022

Dark opaque ruby red color. Aromas of cherries, fresh herbs, wood smoke and espresso. Flavors of black cherries/currants/plums, baking spices, black licorice and dark chocolate. Long elegant, yet earthy finish. Medium-plus body and ample weight. Well polished and totally harmonious. More fruit forward than I expected. Simply excellent. Part of the Kevin Zraly 2025 Red Burgundy Master Class. — 12 days ago

PnP. Modestly dark purple color. Would never guess Spain from the nose and palate. This is straight up Rhone! Dark cherries, meaty/earthy, some tobacco, and subtle herbs. Nice depth and finish. Solid restaurant list value. — 5 months ago
