No se que pasa con este productor pero apesar de ser la mejor parcela de ch m estaba muy flojo el vinito — 18 days ago
Dry, high level of salinity, easy to drink, paired well with salty fish and caviar. — 2 months ago
I’m not real big fan of SB, this one though was different. The lees aging make me think of a flat champagne. Interesting right now and would love to try this with a few yrs of age to see what other nuance it has to offer. — 3 months ago
This showed the style of the 2009 vintage. However, it lacked some of the teeth & depth I normally get from this producer. Notably off for such a stellar vintage.

Noticeably deep colour , deeper than all the others , medium deep ruby quite thin ruby rim . Quite herbal and deep on the nose , with darker fruit profile . Blackberry , dark plum, dark cherry , earthy herbal touches. On the palate this is quite dense and rich with dark cherry , kirsch, blackberry , and a richer frame . Quite gritty but ripe tannins , with balanced acidity . Decent lightly chalky cherry , blackberry, herbal tinged finish . Very different from all others , darker and richer , riper . However , still well made , though not that charming or , dare I say it ‘Burgundian’ , probably as expected . I believe this also needs some time , come back in 5 years and drink over the next 10 or so. — 2 months ago

A spicy, herbal nose with notes of tar, bay leaves, overripe blueberry, meaty notes like iron, a nose that smells of pine, with an underlying freshness that’s welcoming, cutting through the heavily perfumed nose. The body is medium, with prominent grippy tannins that show the youth, with prominent blueberry, a little black cherry, with spicy energy, tar, underripe balsamic, herbs de Provence, graphite and a looong finish. I really enjoyed this, and a great first step for St. Estephe. — 25 days ago
A favorite Macon Chard. Tart green apple, hint of citrus, wet rock, crisp acidity, rich and full bodied with no new oak. — 12 days ago

Better with the Rib-cap. The 08 vintage was spotty to good. This one shows the shortcomings of the 08 vintage. Really good fruit, but lacks typical, depth, mid palate, and length.
The nose is class Bordeaux.Ripe to ruby fruits of, black plum skin, slightly syrupy blackberries, plum, dark cherry liqueur, strawberries, dark currants. Dark chocolate cake with glaze, screaming, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, leather, dry riverstone, limestone marl, forest floor with dry leaves, soft, incense, black, licorice, red, cola, dry herbs, tomato, leaf, with dark and red flowers, framed in violets.
The palate is ripe to ruby fruits of, black plum skin, slightly syrupy blackberries, plum, dark cherry liqueur, strawberries, dark currants. Dark chocolate cake with glaze, screaming, lead pencil shavings, deep, dark spice that expands wide, nutmeg, cinnamon stick, caramel and vanillin, dry tobacco with ash, leather, dry riverstone, limestone marl, dry crushed rocks, forest floor with dry leaves, moist clays, soft, incense, black, licorice, red, cola, savory dry herbs, tomato leaf, dry oak barrel shaving to cedar with dark and red flowers, framed in violets, acidity is ok, just not right, finish is good, not great, it falls hard on spice and is short of a minute.
