Deceptively high alcohol level, very smooth wine, perfect for a group of friends — 6 months ago
Very tasty aged Portuguese red. If I had it blind, I would guess Northern Spanish - Ribera del Duero or Rioja. Smooth and slightly musty/earthy from the age (got some cork crumbles). Opens pretty quickly, with concentrated red fruit and some blackberry. Pleasant tannic grip with a soft texture. Bold flavor throughout, big body (14.5% abv), some pepper and dry grass on a savory finish. Nice for a reasonable price. — a year ago

Has a salty chalky vegetal, bitter, yet yellow fruity thing going on - all over the place. But it calms down with air and food. This isn’t a sipping wine. Paired very well with fish and chips. / edit : I liked this considerably more on day two, more harmonious and complete. Pair with schwarma-spiced grilled chicken thighs and Mediterranean feeeixins. — 2 months ago
Exceptional complexion, delicate mix of dark fruit spice and umami — 7 months ago
Had this at chef Avillez’s Bairro in Lisbon’s Chiado neighborhood. First time trying a Dao DOC wine, and it was splendid. Medium bodied, dark fruit and peppery. A nice contrast to the lighter vino verde’s I’ve had a lot of in Portugal. A bottle of this in front of me would be dangerous. — 3 years ago

Drank it after about five other bottles on Fri before Secret Cinema. Remember thinking it is good, need to revisit. Heavy, grown up but still elegant. — 6 years ago
Very fresh nose - green vines and fresh air, a bit of acetone. Red fruit, nice but not terribly complex. — 6 months ago
A medium bodied red from the Jaen (aka Mencia) grape. Quite aromatic with more red fruit than black, a touch of cloves, mint. A bit of turned earth and tree bark. Fresh & quite enticing. Quite Gamay like.
Quite light bodied on the palate, with juicy acidity and nice purity of fruit. Tart, with a slightly bitter note, raspberry & cranberry with a herby finish. Nice length quite a bit of depth. — a year ago
Pretty smooth, oaky, blackberry juice and a vanilla finish. Love it — 4 years ago
An ongoing story. Delicious .

Color is a mix of purple and burgundy, a bit cloudy. Nose of dried strawberry, spicy note, currants, and carbonates grape juice. Taste is smooth and follows the nose with addition of zest, decent acidity, and tiny hint of mineral. Some more blackberry. And some more black pepper. Aftertaste of some more warmth from black peppers. Clean and warm, and above average. — 5 years ago
