I’m not too fond of the blandness in a lot of Portuguese reds, but this style plays to its strong suits: unabashed joy in a chilled red, with a fine grained berry texture & an inky dark cherry fruit palate. Nothing complicated but something a bit more elegant & long. — 5 months ago
Medium-full. Drinks nicely after airing out. Would enjoy again! — 7 months ago

I had this at select oyster with Mario and Robin — 2 months ago
Pretty deep ruby with medium wide pink rim . Quite closed and mineral focused nose , with grafite , wet stone , dark cherry , blackberry and touch of toast . On the palate quite elegant dark fruits , with dark cherry , blackberry , grafite and cacao . Medium bodied with very fresh quite intense acidity and gritty , quite dry tannins . Medium length crushed rock and grafite tinged finish. This needs more time , better in 3-4 years and will last well a further 5-8 — 3 months ago
Had this at chef Avillez’s Bairro in Lisbon’s Chiado neighborhood. First time trying a Dao DOC wine, and it was splendid. Medium bodied, dark fruit and peppery. A nice contrast to the lighter vino verde’s I’ve had a lot of in Portugal. A bottle of this in front of me would be dangerous. — a year ago
A traditional Portuguese (Dao) red blend made from nine different local varieties. Aromas of red and black berries, leather and earth. Red and black fruit also on the palate with additional notes of tobacco and wet gravel. Medium-plus body and finish with a hint of smoky oak. Nicely balanced. Thanks for bringing this one, Aaron B! — 6 months ago
Pretty smooth, oaky, blackberry juice and a vanilla finish. Love it — 2 years ago
