I really liked this! Very smooth! — 8 years ago
There's this like pink bubble gum flavor throughout (maybe this is Dave Matthews contribution?) but there great dry finish. Really interesting - would recommend. $12.34 from golden eagle — 8 years ago
A proprietary blend, made by Founder and Winemaker Dave Phinney, from Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Muscat, and Vermentino from California. Golden yellow color with aromas of tropical and citrus fruit and melons, aged, 25% in new oak, 60% neutral & 15% stainless for 10 months. On the palate flavors of melons, citrus, and pears, hints of cinnamon spice and toasty oak. Long finish, lively acidity, good balance ending with fruit and mineral character. — 2 years ago
Excellent Chardonnay. Love the crisp, tart, lovely white wine. — 5 years ago
Delicious from nakedwines.com would definitely buy again. — 5 years ago
Oh my. This wine is unbelievable. Rich nose of chocolate, cherry cordial, cola, raspberry purée, cocoa, smoke, oak, leather, fennel, oregano, grape juice... you name it, it’s there. Bold & brooding on the palate. Leathery notes of cigar smoke, tar, wet cigarettes, dark cocoa powder, chocolate-dipped raspberry, blueberry, red currant, & cassis. Grippy & lightly tart with medium-plus acidity. Alcohol hides well under all this fruit. Another stellar David Phinney release. — 6 years ago
Solid blend from Dave Coffaro. Zin, Cab, carignan, and Petite Sirah. Enjoyable young but will age nicely. Beautiful dark color, plenty of oak and bramble fruits. This was aged for 16 months in a barrel. This is a big, bold and balanced wine. Drink or hold. — 7 years ago

Founded in 1988 by Dave Miner, president of Oakville Ranch Vineyards, along with his wife Emily and his parents, Ed and Norma. Gorgeous light Ruby on the pour, ample red fruit aromas with oaky spice notes. Palate has big cherry and sweet red plum flavors, cacao and cinnamon spice with balanced oak. Rich full soft tannins lingering finish ending with herb character. Very Nice! Went well with a Halibut Livornese. — 8 years ago
Really nice, light, but full flavor and a nice peppery finish. From@Naked Wines. Tasted 8 March 2023 — 3 years ago
I am a big fan of David Swift Phinney wines. In 1998 David founded Orin Swift Cellars; Orin is his father’s middle name and Swift is his mother’s maiden name. Aged 10 mos in French oak, 42% new, Ruby with complex aromas of fresh fruits, floral and herb spice, nice mouthfeel. On the palate flavors of raspberry and cherry with cacao and hints of pepper spice. Rich full chewy tannins, well balanced on long finish ending with fruit and earthy spice. — 4 years ago
Enjoyed last night with a grilled ribeye. Very smooth. Look forward to having again. 2018 vintage on August 28,2021. — 5 years ago
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, licorice, spices, coffee, tobacco, mocha, light vegetables, pencil lead, peppercorn and herbs.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with black currants, cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco leaf, spices, oak, licorice, light vegetables, pencil lead, peppercorn and dark coffee.
Tangy finish with soft tannins and raspberries.
This is a very tasty red blend from Spain from the house of Dave Phinney. Well balanced with a nice mouthfeel and mild complexity.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and gets more structure.
Easy drinking and a good everyday wine.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
15% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Balanced Cabernet Sauvignon from Dave Matthews, light with grape flavor and low acid and tannin, at Dirty Water Pizza Co. In Back Bay, Boston — 7 years ago
I might be biased, but David Phinney/Orin Swift can do no wrong. ...Ok, I’m definitely biased, but still... Subdued aroma of roasted raspberry, blackberry, and dried tobacco. Lush & velvety on the palate. The alcohol hides well. Medium-plus acidity. Nice tannic structure that plays throughout the middle and grips at the end. Notes of luxardo cherry, plum, dark cocoa, raspberry, currant, & barberry. Cigar box underneath the fruit. Sharp, woody finish. Not as in-your-face as Prisoner, but a lovely sipper. — 7 years ago
Damn. Still rockin strong. Like Dave in the good years. I fooled my wife into thinking it might be old world/ that all the praise you need to know. — 8 years ago

My friend @Dave had this recently and said it was drinking well so I pulled one of my bottles. I struggle to find food that good Bordeaux shines with. Maybe our cooking wheelhouse doesn’t click with it. In any event, AFTER dinner this wine seemed really good. Nose is developing some nice complexity, with dark cassis, roasted Persian spices, cedar, moist gray clay, a bit of sweet wafty smoke. Rich and softening nicely in the mouth, with cigar box and cassis/plummy flavors, and some flinty minerality in the finish. I almost always like wine with food better than just wine, but not this. This is really fine to sip and contemplate. Great value. — 2 months ago
