Good, easy weeknight wine — 5 years ago
Citrus, apple, faint grass. Nice minerality. Thought this would have more acid. Rounded. — 6 years ago
Grapes for this wine are from Fred and Dora’s 100 year old vineyard in Mendocino. Color is nearly black, nose is tight, closed only yielding on day 2. Schizoid wine...huge, young, tannic, acidic, alive—but ABV 12.5! Fine on day 1... amazing on day 2 with Medium filets, mushroom risotto, and brocolini. I laugh as I type this.. the mouthfeel is medium at most... not viscous or oily... but vibrant, alive, dancing across the palate. I really like this wine..so utterly California, but not new world at all. — 6 years ago
It’s picked up a little nuttiness to go with the fruit, minerals, and bright acidity. The acid is prominent enough on the finish that it is ever so slightly disjointed but still enjoyable. — 2 years ago
yes, this is a photo of a computer image. tasted as part of a Mourvèdre wine group tasting via zoom, wines portioned into woozies. 2018v. super aromatic, raspberry/cranberry juice, fresh leather, violet. palate texture is silky, light but complex and flavorful, acid medium +, long tannins- just a bit of grip. fantastic — 6 years ago
Drank over ice, wasn’t mad. Good structure. Juicy mouthfeel. — 6 years ago
Not corked this time! Really pretty wine. Savory dark red fruit. Plush tannins and relatively low acidity.
The main reason I’m scoring lower is because I had Ridge Mataro ($42) and Dirty and Rowdy Mourvèdre ($26) this week and they were both equally interesting for far less than $70. — 4 years ago
OMG! Lean and sharp as a light-saber. The wine is med brick in the glass… light and lively in the mouth. It dances across your palate. Caressing all the corners and crevices. A dichotomy of lightness in weight snd power in black fruited ripeness. Way too young but great with baby portobellos and dry aged prime rib from Publican Meats…Covid Christmas II sucks apart from family, but we’re spoiling ourselves… successfully as it happens. Life’s too damn short to drink shit wine…,Cheers! — 5 years ago
@Delectable this is Zinfandel. After 4 hrs of air, extremely perfumed and floral, crunchy red fruits, spice, funk. This is about the brightest, lightest, most red-fruited zin I’ve ever had ⚡️😍 — 6 years ago

Third bottle and excellent! One more left. So much earth and herbs and bright red fruits. I love this wine. I’ve had two Mourvèdre wines I really enjoy from wineries that have shut down, who is using this fruit now? What other wineries can I get crunchy Mourvèdre that has a whisper of bandol but at the same time is hippie California? — 3 days ago
