What a fascinating Rhone blend, from a far south appellation and vigneron I’ve never encountered. Given the 18years of bottle age plus pre release, some serious stuffing- especially at 15% abv- but really presents more like a fresh, slightly funky northern Rhone, ie, Syrah. Like George Clooney in ballet shoes, but truly graceful. Deep black fruits, some gaminess & feral qualities. Apparently the maker subscribes to such a higher order of biodynamics that he holds a patent on it. Finish fairly long & satisfying. Paired with the main courses of a modern Korean tasting menu, including roast duck. Doesn’t have to be a unicorn to be enjoyed, but this one is. Very special. Rosenthal book. — 20 days ago

After about an hour, definitely espresso notes on the palate but otherwise a lovely red fruit (strawberry, cranberry) nose/palate, some mushroom/earthy forest floor, drying but not overly dry, nicely balanced with tannins that are softening but still has some punch. Not the easiest drinking burgundy but one that certainly punches above its $40 weight class. Great value! — 4 months ago

Georgeous salmon- colored. Nice acidity with some light citrusy notes. Nice long finish. Excellent rose. Having this with garden heirloom tomatoes( Black Krim and Cuore de Bue), sea salt, pepper, and a single vineyard Sicilian EVOO. Such a beautiful evening here! — 2 months ago

Really solid & over-delivers for $18. Love their CdP so tried this: immediately unfurled red & blue fruit compote mingled w/Garrigue, white pepper, licorice, menthol & earth. Lovely nose followed by generous palate, smooth & silky, balanced, gentle tannins yet structured. — 4 months ago
