Last bottle of a summer dinner- no decant. 2nd tasting of this vintage & much more expressive than the first. Throws Brett a decent amount & imagine some might prefer a substantial decant, though I like the funkiness. Fine toothed &a lovely grainy, slightly chewy texture & rather elegant; cassis, black currant, smoked beef jerky, & black cherry on palate & nose. Not complex at this stage but who needs it given the enjoyment factor. Post meal ( or probably blended into the end) of grilled BBQ chicken, French lentilsw labneh, & local tomato salad. Great stuff. Mixes mineral pedigree of iron and blood with a lifted, red, fresh profile. Both contemplative and drinkable — 3 months ago
Great nose and showing signs of maturity. Lurid aromas of red berry fruit, smoked meat, granite, herbs and smoke. Really gorgeous nose. Unreal terroir expression and so so vivid. Brilliant. 9.7 nose. Palate is ripe and juicy with terrific freshness and purity and all red fruits. Maybe a hint of cassis. Such freshness and energy here. Long finish. — 4 months ago
Muscadet of the Alps! Nose is wet hay, wild flowers, minerals, some underarm and more. So complex and expressive. Palate is super juicy and has huge acid and energy but also a pillowy texture and terrific fruit intensity. Long and so pretty. Let’s see what air does. This has gained lovely richness with air. Still a 9.3 but love that contrast with the acids. Also killer finesse. Close to a 9.4. — 8 months ago

Beautiful wine. Feeling suspended in time. Lots of energy, deepness and Sicily complexity. The fruit is now overtaken by the spiciness so it may need more air or more time to evolve in bottle. Can still improve. — a month ago
