2024/9/1-2. This is traditional red Burgundy in the best way (for my taste) - red-fruited, limpid red, acid and mineral balanced by sweet fruit that flirts with being not quite enough — 7 months ago
2024/8/13-14. This is in a rich style but without much oak influence; ripe lemon, citrus blossom, a bit of butter and stone. It reminds me of Merlin’s wines (though that impression might be heightened because I’m drinking through a tranche of the latter in parallel) — 8 months ago
Medium ruby wide medium pale ruby rim . Quite reserved at first , with some blackberry and red currant , earthy raspberry notes, touch smoky. On the palate this is more velvety and sweetly fruited , raspberry , strawberry , quite elegant tannins , and really fresh acidity . Slightly chalky , saline tannins . Really fills out on the mid palate , intense , but so well balanced . Long and quite densely fruited on the finish , with some mineral , chalky hints also. This is still really quite young , quite closed , densely fruited. Come back in 5 years perhaps, very promising — 2 months ago
2024/8/13-14. I don’t know that I actually prefer this to the regular Volnay at this stage; this is more dense, but at this point that manifests as a bit of dried, even raisiny fruit at times. There is still that elegant red fruit essence and a slightly rose-like floral note , though — 8 months ago
A bit less good than the other bottles we had years ago, the bottle is on a slow decline. Was nevertheless a really good one. — 4 months ago
2024/8. Pretty pretty good aligoté. After 6 years, there’s a burnished, golden character like baked, sliced apples - but also a funky, alkaline, slightly smoky mineral twist — 8 months ago

Great lunch line up. Munjebel MC had developed nicely after we opened it the day before. Lafarge great acidity and red fruit. Le moine very forest floor. — 25 days ago
