I have wanted to do this producer side by side with Alban with well seasoned Tri-tip. Tonight is the night.
The crowd that leans California liked the French better.
I have always thought Alban in the new world mimicked Rostaing’s style.
Both phenomenal and I enjoyed both for slightly different climate & soil reasons.
These two producers do Syrah without the heavy smoked meats & bacon fat of say Cayuse. — a month ago
2018 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 10 mins and 45 mins. Light body. Initially reticent but started to emerge after quite a bit of decanter agitation. Still, a bit more on the delicate side with cinnamon, rhubarb, tree bark, spearmint and raspberry impressions. Tasting like it's in a period of transition but it fills you up to the brim, Jim. 05.09.25. — 5 months ago
2019 vintage. Last tasted 07.30.23 (9.5). Good lord. This is still (unsurprisingly) effing ridiculous. Explosive and giving without being compliant. Every time tasting this, attempt to renounce Cabernet Sauvignon/BDX blends forever. Hopefully someday, I'll make it stick. 02.28.25. — 7 months ago
Tough to wait. Already awesome and will get better — a month ago

Red and dark fruit, with roses and earthy, gamey notes. — 3 months ago
A more robust Pinot. Low transparency. Good fruit with some Tannin present so will age and smooth out over time. April 2025. — 5 months ago

Don’t drink this producer too much but this was very good. Richer style, fills the mouth. — 23 days ago
