Ettore Germano only bottles Lazzarito as a Riserva, which is the estate’s flagship bottling.

It’s not quite ready yet after a decade. The initial nose is dominated by iron, leather, and earthy mineral tones. After about 2 hours in the decanter, layers of red cherry, rosehip, and dried orange peel gradually emerge. The palate is powerful and tightly wound, framed by vibrant acidity and firm tannins that have yet to fully knit into the fruit. This is a serious Barolo whose best years still appear to lie well ahead. — 5 months ago

I have been on Delectable for about 10 years and just under 5000 wines tasted. Delectable are now saying zero wines tasted??? Delectable have since corrected this to around 4850 wines. I had this last weekend on the Gold Coast in new Italian restaurant in Southport called Bar Ricci - excellent wine list. I’ve always thought Amarone reminds me of Fruit (raisins) and nut milk chocolate. A very fluid mouth filling texture. Silky tannins. Easy to drink. — 7 months ago
