Outrageous. Just crazy. Huge herbals. Huge florals. Tree bark, citrus stem, unreal aromas. Confectionary. Nose is a 9.9. Just incredible. Palate is just killer. Super elegant and deep with a midpalate I can get lost in. Superb fruit soak and unreal purity. Gently concentrated. Pure apple, melon and apricot fruit. Drinking so well now. After 16 hours open this continues to develop amazingly. Unreal confectionary nose. Some classic vulcanized rubber and unreal clarity. This is genius. Smarties nose. Palate is so fine and nimble but it’s got some weight and heft. Juicy and so clean. Icing on a cake texture. Just stunning. — 5 months ago

Insane concentration for a Mosel wine. Has all the slate minerality, complex white and yellow florals, tropical fruit ie guava pineapple; has the signature Steinmetz searing acidity (in a good way) but with a density similar to a Pflaz GG. Spectacular. This is a top wine. @Lyle Fass — 7 months ago

It runs slightly oily into the glass, golden-yellow color, the reduction on the nose is surprisingly limited for its age, it still appears incredibly fresh, then in the mouth a smoothness, tastes like pineapple/tangerine, peach with an enormous fruit body,... for 10 € it's a joke, great cinema :-) — a year ago

Transformative. That Mosel balance but with the PG tropicality.

Nose: yellow flowers. Apricot flower. So perfumed. So so pretty.

Palate: perfect. Gossamer. Perfect texture. Apricot extract. Amazing.

A very detailed and elegant PG auslese. They can be quite forward in a tropical way. This is so elegant

It took a few hours to open up, initially it was lacking the minerality and depth I expected but it got there eventually. Thicker than 2021, but just as lifted. A Kabinett of light and air, with enough density to carry you. The acidity was joy itself. The mouthfeel was silk in motion. There's something about the 2023s, they have more breadth, more echo. Like the 21s got stretched sideways in all the right ways.
I didn't take notes. I just sat there. And felt better after a brutal day. Because sometimes, at the end of a brutal day, all you need is a Steinmetz Kabinett to remind you that life still has sweetness. — 10 months ago

Nose: just an overwhelming feeling of freshness. Yellow flowers. Much more dense as this opens. Penetrating.

Palate: sweet minerals. Utterly delicious. Stone fruits. Pure mountain stream. More dense as it opens. Succulent. Juicy. Amazing.

There is a perfection about this. Terrific balance.

Always enjoy the wines from Steinmetz, especially for the price. This bottling has the very nice balance of fruit, a hint of sweetness, electric acidity and good minerality. But, drinks slightly thin compared to others I’ve had. Still nice. — a year ago

Wow, 24 is going to be a problem. What acids! More later as it cools down but Stefan is cooking always in the Treppchen. So juicy and lean. Ultra precise and razor sharp. Classic. Wow, with air this has zesty lime fruit and unreal complexity. Mineral explosion. So nimble and refined. Day 2 it’s even better. Ethereal. So close to 9.8. — 6 months ago

I didn’t take any notes on this one, but it stood out for its full throttle intensity, married to supreme elegance, with a textured mouthfeel. Long, resonant finish. First try with this bottling, and I would have purchased two additional cases had I known how brilliant it is. Will back up the truck next year. Hard to believe how open this is at this age, and I don’t know how I will be able to hold on to these for the long haul. — 8 months ago

Nose: faint stone fruit. Mountain air. Crystalline. Yellow flowers. Elite nose.

Palate: crisp and fair acidity on the attack. Perfect taut peach. So linear. Mineral as an element. Rounding green apples.
