Like most Valtellinas, the color is very pale, and its 9 years of age are apparent in the amber rim. The nose is superb. Dried cherry, faded roses, light leather, some old library scents, some crushed stone. Lively in the mouth, with buoyant acids propelling along minerally just-ripe macerated cherry fruit, crushed rocks, and old barrel notes. I can’t imagine this will improve, and it’s drinking really well right now. Classic. — 4 months ago
Beautiful aromatics with light (dried?) dusty cherries, wilted flowers, a hint of rose. Quite light, quite aetheric. So enticing!
Light bodied on the palate and very juicy. A present, fine tannic frame, filled with light cherry, a hint of red fruits, a light herby note. So poised & elegant and really delicious! — 3 years ago
Amazingly tight for a 16-year old wine. The acids are smell-able on the nose, zinging along tart, macerated wild cherry fruit and glacier-crushed rock fragments. (OK, maybe I’m making up the part about how the crushed rocks were created.) In the mouth it’s deep but the acids rip this along on the palate like a whitewater canoe ride. Really really unique and good. — 7 months ago

Felt a bit tired. Some drive in finish but lacking energy. — 18 days ago
