Oh wow - they really nailed it in ‘21.
This has to be the most Burgundian Syrah I have ever tasted.
Upon opening this is _so_ Côte Chalonnaise Pinot - dark spicy cherry with a bit of structure & beef. With time more blueberry comes to the forefront together with some leather, a touch of rosemary, a whiff of freshly cracked black pepper. It remains hung somewhere between a Pinot and Côte Rotie. Very, very fresh & enticing.
Very fresh and Pinot-like on the palate as well. Juicy acidity, polished tannins. More Baden Pinot than Burgundy… but very precise, light, aetheric.
Blind I would have never said this is a Syrah!
Such a pleasure already now. And amazing value for money! — 2 days ago
Wasn’t called Wurmlin in 16 but it’s the same wine. At 8 years of age this is really coming into its own. Exuberant nose is stone fruits, grapefruit and gorgeous herbs. Some died tree bark and also citrus rind. Palate is stunning. Wow. 9.8 palate for now. Just so concentrated and energetic, with outrageous purity and depth. Amazing structure and length. Unreal palate. This is magic. Crazy citrus and stone fruits and endless finish. Genius! — 24 days ago

Burgundian on the nose. As if you know that you’re about to taste something special. On the palate freshness. Sour cherries at first with some lingering umami. At 11 years old this is in its prime drinking window. — 5 days ago
