Casanova di Neri

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Delicious wine. Complex and juicy with black- and redcurrants. Top vintage shinning through. If i was being picky there was slightly too much alcohol but that is really nit picking. — 2 days ago

Azienda Agricola Le Ragnaie

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

This was a magnificent wine. We had the 2012 in 2024, and it was drinking wonderfully. All the dark fruit flavors were clear and immediate, but the earthy depth was in perfect balance. Opened 4 hours before drinking, and decanted it: hardly any sediment, and yet its tannins were integrated and balanced. We paired with roasted leg of lamb and roasted potatoes and it was a@pure delight! All of us and our guests loved it. — 4 days ago

Tenuta Il Poggione

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2003

Delicious wine. Full-bodied. Ripe strawberries, raspberries, and cherries, with a bit of dark chocolate, coffee, and tobacco. Decanted for about five hours — 15 days ago

Valdicava

Riserva Madonna del Piano Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

Sangiovese goodness. Tuscan sun and black fruit dominate this exceptional wine. Notes of sandalwood and leather with silky tannins and long finish. — 12 days ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

2018 vintage. Solid but unexciting. Medium body. Hit within the next decade as this lacks the structure to cellar long-term. If you've still got the 2016 vintage, let that one sleep. 8.28.24. — 15 days ago

Well-rated, but lacks some of the cherry menthol of other Montalcinos. Will most likely look elsewhere at this price point. $80. — 13 days ago

Pertimali (Livio Sassetti)

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

2019 vintage. On the heels of the excellent 2015 and 2016 vintages, the acclaimed 2019 was already behind the 8-ball. After tasting approx 60-65 2019 Brunellos, they are good but generally lacking that extra level of oomph that the ‘15’s and ‘16’s have. This is an exception. Blind tasting it, woulda flagged it for 2015-2016. 8.28.24. — 15 days ago

Bacci Wines

Renieri Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

Nose - brick, clay, soil and white flowers. Main tasting notes - under-ripened plum, black cherry and sweet tart candies. Lovely mouth feel, soft in the middle and ending with just a little bit of a tiny zippy acid at the end. This wine is lovely and complex for under $100 bucks. — 4 days ago

Valdicava

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2007

From magnum and decanted about 2 hours prior to dinner. Paired with wagyu steaks. Wine was hearty and robust. Little dusty and smooth tannins. — 25 days ago
