Lovely, crisp, clean still after all these years. — 5 months ago
I’ve loved the wines from Alpha Estate for years but this was the first time trying the SMX blend. It did not disappoint. Full-bodied and dark, it produced flavors of blackberry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, and earth. Definitely needed some air before opening up fully, but it could have spent another couple of years in the bottle. 60% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 20% Xinomavro. 4/29/25. — 8 months ago

This 12 year old Single Vineyard Bordeaux blend from Chile is drinking beautifully now. Nicely balanced and complex.
I had this vintage 4 years ago, and it is still drinking beautifully. Rich and fruit forward with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing a very complex nose, at this point. Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.
Wine Spectator 91 points. Wine Enthusiasts 94 points.
Showing good structure and needs a couple of hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too. What a gorgeous sipping wine.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Lovely wine. Paired with venison. Decanted for a couple of hours. Full-bodied. Dark cherries, blackberries, a hint of dark chocolate, and Smokey. Very satisfying. — 7 months ago
Tasted in 2019 and thought it needed 3+ years, well worth the 6 years, softened nicely but still has time left — 9 months ago
Bright citrus with soft jasmine and a touch of saline and gooseberry. Crisp and fresh. — 4 months ago
Great wine. Think 0.2 is added due to the scenery — 6 months ago
