Le Nombre d'Or Brut Sablé Blanc des Blancs Champagne Chardonnay 2014

25% Chardonnay, 25% Arbanne, 25% Petit Meslier, 25% Pinot Blanc
48 months aging.
A rounded delicious partner for neuvo-Filipino @Tabachoy. Sleek enough to play nicely with all the pork richness on the table. Hints of bread and white earth/flowers on the nose. Complete in every way. A great food wine. Nice thread of bubbles never harsh.
Delicious!

L'or D'Eugene Brut Blanc de Noirs

Again it’s a champagne from Cédric Moussé, one of the Masters of Meunier. He’s almost single-handedly put Cuisles on the wine map. The L’Or D’Eugéne is a perfect introduction to his style.

Medium gold with fast paced perlage and an attractive bouquet. Black cherries and pretty flowers combine with chalk and herbs. In the mouth, it’s racy and vivacious. Sexy and a bit thrilling with zippy acidity. 80/20 Pinot Meunier/Pinot Noir from a perpetual reserve with an Extra Brut dosage of 2 g/l.

I’ve always wanted to drink this over a few days. To really let it breathe and mature in the glass. To really let it set and enjoy it over time. But I can’t. It’s just too damn good.

Perle Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne Chardonnay

Love this!! Disgorged Spring 2021, Extra Brut. 3g/L, lower pressure, more wine like. I visited them a year ago. What a great small producer! — a year ago

HWT - I think it’s around $70? It was light and delicious, small bubbles, but a very nice flavor. — 4 months ago

Aspasie Cepages d'Antan Brut Champagne Blend

David T
9.4

The Ariston Aspasie Cépages d'Antan is a blend of one grape that is nearly extinct in Champagne, Petit Meslier and two rare grapes that get blended into Champagne. It parses into 40% Petit Meslier, 40% Arbanne, and 20% Pinot Blanc. None of the three main grapes; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier

Crazy good body and super soft mouthfeel. There is soft precision in the palate. Excellent micro oxygenation. Shades of the 2007 Taittinger Comte’s. Leads with the white citruses.- lime, lemon, grapefruit, kiwi, some pineapple juice, tropical green melon, what softer than soft powdery chalkiness, limestone, volcanics just as soft, spring flowers for days, perfect acidy and a purely beautifully balanced, knitted, length that has length and a singing finish that goes on and on. @ K&L Champagne tasting.

Terroirs Grand Cru Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Pop and pour. A bit under a year since my last btl. May 2016 lot, Aug 2019 disg. 5 g/L dosage. On the nose: lemon, baked apple with a touch of butter. On the palate: soft mousse, lovely meyer lemon and apple. Fantastic density and acidity. Crisp, yet good weight. Still young, but very yummy. — 2 years ago

Cuisles Special Club Champagne Pinot Meunier 2012

Pale lemon in the glass with very active perlage initially. The nose is tremendous with apple butter and fresh baked bread smeared with honey. Green apples and cherries abound along with fresh herbs.

Pure Meunier from the village of Cuisles. These Moussé champagnes are always a distinct treat and easily some of the best on the market. Plus acidity and major plus on the character. Really nice tension and drama here. Dry with much finesse, 4 g/l dosage and disgorged in mid 2016.

Electric on the tongue, this is just coursing energy. Lively and bold, this is a very pure wine with terrific length. A nice bit of citrus on the palate with more apples coming to play. Captivating stuff. As ever.
