Not sure I’ve had any other 2006 Bordeaux but decided to pull this to give it a go at nearly 20 years of age. Nice wine but perhaps not one that justifies the price point. At first quite tight, but after a 5 hour decant this really comes into its own. Lots of leather and dark blue and black fruit. Oak is really only apparent in structure now. From a 5 liter bottle at Smith & Wollensky for WINE WEEK. What a deal and fun Friday afternoon

This wine had very good bright fruit flavors. Minimum tannins. A touch of acidity that was needed to keep it from being too juicy.

Drum-tight presentation throughout. Nose presents sirop de cassis and blueberry pie. For a 15 vintage, this still presents as premature.
Palate is a dream. Laser-focused and broad shouldered. Zero tertiary notes on the palate, just rich dark fruits and muscular tannins. Yours truly had to get in on the action here. Thanks to Drew for opening up his cellar! — 4 months ago
