The oak really stands out in this one. On one hand I think 'Too much what are you trying to hide or make up for?' and on the other hand I think 'This was daring but it worked!'.
Let me put it another way: It's too much oak for me to enjoy the bottle but it's a wood punch that makes me enjoy the glass over many other Pinot's I've had recently.

This is a great wine. It opens with strong berry character and some oak/vanilla. As it opens the jammy character shines through and you get a strong berry sweetness in flavor and aroma that drinks really easy for 14.5%. Stands up to the bit of age I put on it. Will drink again! — 5 months ago
Fun and funky bottle, lots of yeasty baked goods on the palette for me, but easy-drinking. — 2 months ago
Absolutely loved the detail on the bottle. Had this with some very fatty ribeyes and just absolutely hit it out of the park. A deep nose it almost comes off. Still hot with alcohol, but dry forest floor and rich garrique scents. Very bold and rich with ripe bursting plum, Rosemary, thyme, and butter, definitely enough structure to hold up against a good thick steak. Can’t believe this thing is 11 years old and still kicking it. — 3 months ago

At almost 25 years old still an infant. Needs considerable time in the glass to open up. Lead pencil and cedar box, pronounced but delicate tannins. Not yet at plateau. — 9 days ago
