Rich aromas of caramel and raisins, light on the palate but round, with raisins and figs and the perfect level of sweetness. From our trip to Portugal at the end of 2018. — 4 months ago
I cannot believe how good this wine is! It tastes so fresh, but there are oxidized characteristics as it opens. Marzipan, honey, pears, baked apples, jasmine. There’s also some nutmeg and red apple. The palate explodes with flavor at the end. Dried apricots, a ton of apple, dark honey, tart lemon juice, almonds, some bread. I am so impressed! Given as a gift and I honestly thought 25 year old j vineyards would have turned. Boy was I wrong. Maybe wine of the year for me. — 5 months ago
Bottled in 2015. One of the best lbv. In de geur doet hij eerder denken aan een oude chateuneuf. En dan in de smaak.. heel smooth, veel concentratie, heel fresh. Mooie tannine. — 25 days ago
[Tasted on January 25, 2025 at Home with Tom, Kathy, Mark and Lucille]
Purchased during September 2022 visit to the winery. “Billet Doux” means “Love Note” in French. 58% Semillon; 36% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Muscat. Late harvest dessert wine in style of Sauternes. Mango, apricot, mandarin orange and peach fruit, with honey and ginger. Sweet and rich with nice balance. — 2 months ago

Inky, opaque dark purple, smells like and tastes like a very fine Vintage Porto, WAY more dense, thick and complex flavors, typical Dow’s “relative” dryness, but very full-bodied and certainly not at all “thin”, outstanding LBV Porto!!! — 11 days ago
