Enjoyed alongside some other Napa legends from the 80’s and 90’s. This was stunning and to my palate, on this night, seemed to show the best of the Napa flight. The 1992 shows classic Dunn Howell with ample dark and red fruits, tobacco, earth, leather and fine baking spices. Stout structure. Everything in beautiful balance. Drink now with unmitigated glee and through 2042 because just like Barry, this has Staying Power. — 24 days ago
Euphoria dinner with kenlee Saniya Vikrant Greg Sophia. Honestly could have had a few more years in the bottle. Super vibrant nose, violets leather vanilla herbal. Drinking legends tonight 😂😂 — a year ago
Enjoyed alongside some other Napa legends from the 80’s and 90’s. From the jump, a touch funky and showing a bit more green and with brighter red fruit, than the Monte Bello, Dunn Howell or Monticello tonight. Lots of life left in this but I don’t expect it to really improve much from where it is. I’d say drink now — 24 days ago
First thought is that I lack the vocabulary for this one, as alas, don’t get to try these legends too often. Nose leads with pure smoked meat, cherry-licorice liqueur (without the alcohol whiff) and something I can only call “magical spice concoction” Palate hits first the side with acid freshness (hello! Where did you come from?) then unwinds the long and complex licorice and boysenberry melange that is already approachable with with enough sandiness in the tannins to show higher promise in the future. Texture hits with smoky bacon fat and carried everything for 30 seconds plus — 5 months ago
Enjoyed alongside some other Napa legends from the 80’s and 90’s. Over the first hour upon opening, the 1986 Monticello showed very well alongside the Dunn, Mayacamas and Monte Bello. It has a greater umami character that reminded us of hoisin and showed more alcohol but it remained fairly balanced. I thought it did seem to fade a bit as the night went on but what a showing. Drink now. — 24 days ago
The quality of wine at Legends has been very good all things considered. — 6 months ago
How is this what they are serving at Legends?
HOW?! — 6 months ago
Okay, no one is confusing this with a Chateau Margeaux, but that's only because it lacks the really deep complexity. And many other ways, it has the rich depth and smooth tannins and even some of the aromas of the real thing. Lovely one. — 4 years ago

This was so good. Strawberry and red fruits with equal tension to match. Too bad they’re no longer making — 24 days ago
