Very refined French Chardonnay, served with dinner at friends’ house in Amherst, MA — 3 months ago
A majestic wine. Clear ruby in the glass with a wide brim and long legs. The nose is muted at first and this does require decanting but she does begin to reveal her mysteries after some time and air. Classic Volnay characteristics with wet earth and prunes. Violets and cherries with a touch of spice.
Drinking very well right now. Rustic yet elegant and so inviting. Nice tannins and complexity. A ton of energy and life here, she practically dances on the tongue. The beautiful funk is prevalent throughout. Wild strawberries and mushrooms on the palate initially. A bit of cedar and more cherries. Warm spice on the deliciously long finish. A beautiful Burgundy.

2021 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 45 minutes. Spicy, full nose with suggestions of power. Spices coming through in the flavors with this showing a medium-heavy body currently. Some great orange peel/zest in there as well. Intense and needing 3-5 years to loosen the death grip on your palate slightly. Can see this bumping up to a 9.4 in those next 3-5 years. 6.13.24. — 7 months ago
Delicious, and great value! Strong blackberry notes with hint of tobacco. — 3 months ago

2017 vintage. Punchy and unconsolidated like a younger sibling. Plenty of moments of great height afoot. Medium-heavy body. Not as well knit as I'd like given the year/age and da money. Flighty here, tangents there. Still, tasting the wine, the pedigree and quality are evident. 01.04.25. — 2 days ago
