Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, vanilla, spice/pepper, chocolate, minerals and leather. On the palate, anise, olive, minerals, cherry, vanilla, saline, milk chocolate, velvety texture, long finish. Tannins are still working pretty hard but not too overpowering. — 2 months ago
Final Etna Biaco of our Sicily trip. DOC Superiore lives up to its domain certification. Dry with minimality but richer flavors than others we tasted here. Maybe barrel aged. — 4 months ago
Light enjoyable wine. Cosgrove — a year ago
Floral and pleasantly acidic. Delicious. — 5 years ago
This dark wine has a fruity nose of blackberry and plum, but there are some more savory notes as well. Black pepper, cigar box and black olive also come through. On the palate, licorice and plums are in the forefront of one of the fruitier flavor profiles I have tasted in Apulian Primitivos. The 16% alcohol is not as overpowering as I imagined it would be. The tannins are fairly forceful and the acidity is refreshing. This wine drinks really well and will pair nicely with a marbled rib eye steak. — 5 years ago
100% Verdeca. (Puglian white varietal that was brought to Southern Italy by the Greeks.) Bright straw gold color with a few green highlights. Aromas of tropical and stone fruits, wild herbs and white flowers. Flavors of peach, pineapple, mango and lime fruit with additional flavors of chalk and those wild herbs. Medium plus mineral based finish and medium body. Extremely vibrant (electric) acidity and intensely fruit forward. No sign of oak aging. Best with food. — 16 days ago

Went over to L&J's house and he just happened to have almost the same chianti as we had last night. But this vintage was fruitier and brighter than the 21. Or at least, fruitier and brighter than what was left of the 21 from last night. — 2 years ago
So cool! Black cherry, mint/herbs, bittersweet smoky chocolate, med+ acidity, med body, tart finish. Glad I got to try this rarity! — 5 years ago
This is a nice and easy drinking sparking wine from Italy.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate, tangy and engaging.
Showing citrus, green apples, herbs, earth, yeast and minerals.
Good by itself or with food. Needs 30 minutes to open up properly, so be patient. I've had it before, but never gave it the chance to breathe. Worth the wait.
12% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
