Gooseberry, lime and honey notes. — 4 years ago
Used to think Pinot Noir lives in Burgundy until I tried old single vineyard Calera. These are epic wines. Red and dark fruit, rustic woods reminiscent of walking in Bois de Boloigne on a misty evening. Slight mushroom with wet tobacco and a whiff of fresh roasted coffee. I have not tried Calera post Josh Jenssen. Ryan and Mills are great vineyards too. — 6 years ago
93/100pts, 4.4⭐. Arcadia, home of legends & the oldest Gewurztraminer of Greece, here in 2017 vintage.
Yellow with silver hues.
Impressions of seductive tropical florals in misty nursery on enchanting nose.
Med+ body with elegant acidity in playful mood with solid minerality.
Lychee, marjoram, unripe apple & half baked bread notes in layered palate.
Awesome aftertaste, slightly off dry spring herbals. Long finish.
🗨 2017 vintage proves the most elegant Gewurzt ever produced in Greece.

My wife and I first tasted La Fortuna on our honeymoon in brunello.. misty colored watered memories of the way we were...tonight pizza and kids crazy but I digress. Think the pros are hard on this wine. Medium bodied and well balanced with red fruit with some mineral and that touch of leather. Fun wine — 8 years ago
Misty, in yo' face raspberry jam, leather and barnyard campfire of lavender/rose cuttings. Many, many years left on this one. — 8 years ago
This isn’t your average Pinot Noir. No, this is the kind of wine that slinks into the room with quiet confidence, drops a sharp one-liner, and makes you question everything you thought you knew about wine. Unpretentious but impeccably crafted, with just the right amount of attitude. On the palate, the fruit—cherries, raspberries, and plums—is vibrant, alive, like it’s been plucked at the peak of its existence. But then comes the earth: a bit of cedar, a dash of spice, and that elusive minerality that makes you wonder if you’re drinking wine or walking through a misty vineyard at dawn.
The acidity? Razor-sharp but not overwhelming. It’s like the sarcastic friend who keeps you grounded. The tannins are there, smooth and silky.
And the finish? Long. Real long. Like the kind of story you hope never ends, full of fruit, spice, and a faint echo of oak. — a year ago
Quite nice: the structure has come together noticeably in the past two years: it’s the 2012, and it wasn’t quite balanced after 6 years but now, at 8, it works. You get nice misty earth on the nose, ripe fruit on the approach, with soft tannins and a little soft mineral on the finish. — 6 years ago
Not as sweet as I expected. Prune notes on tasting. Enjoyable interesting wine little misty . — 7 years ago

More dark ruby color than translucent brick. Dried flowers, touch of wood and smoke, cranberry, tea, wet fallen leaves on a misty forest floor. More acid and mineral, not as much tar and not as mellow and full as the 2013 Barolo we’ve had. From Flatiron Wines. — 8 years ago
