While not in the same league as the legendary 2000, 2006 is showing well after sufficient air (3 hour decant), but still incredibly youthful and even a bit rustic with noticeable tannins. This is not an elegant vintage, but rather immensely structured, dense and dark fruited with Rhône-esque camphor and bacon, coffee beans and black tea. I’d give this several more years for the tannins to soften and palate to integrate but I’m not sure this will reach the heights of 02 and 00. — 2 months ago
This wine has a pale, straw yellow color in the glass with hints of green. The nose sports a boatload of citrus - lemon, lime, tangerine - with a slight herbal scent. Pinot Grigio usually is too floral and flaccid for my taste. Not this one. The palate has every bit of that citrus from the nose and minerality to spare. Acidity is bracing, so food pairings will be easy. But this is a great sipper, too, as an aperitif. — 3 months ago

Enjoyed this wine. Had the store brand pecorino from Cantoro’s in Michigan and was thrilled to see this one to try again. Some melon and honeydew. With some pear and honeysuckle. Really different taste profile. Lightly acidic and floral all at the same time. Plan to get more of this one! — a month ago
