Le Clos de Lys Morgon Gamay 2009

Lovely aged Morgon, redfruits and solid weight still (I’d guess because of the warmer 2009 vintage), nice balance, medrum-long finish, quite good (but time to drink up, IMHO). — 25 days ago

Les Bressandes Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2005

Open & expressive showing layers of red fruit, spice, mineral with floral notes. This kept improving over time in the glass — 6 months ago

Cuvée des Lys Tavel Rosé Blend

Wonderful combination of bright fruit and structure. People sometimes forget that rosés are red wines, but this wine was a wonderful partner for a roast lamb and eggplant dish. Have this wine with food, and enjoy! — 2 years ago

Les Lys Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010

“Les Lys” is one of the eight climats within Vaillons but it’s peculiar in terms of its exposure and the soil contains a bit more clay. The wines are equally unique expressions and typically long lived. This bottle is no exception.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a hour. The 2010 “Les Lys” pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with explosive notes of tart and ripe orchard and tropical fruits: green apple, starfruit, passion fruit; a mixed bag of citrus with lemon, lime and even some tangerine. There’s white flowers, a whiff of brioche and racy minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. It has been a few years since I last had the 2010 and it’s no less stunning. Drink now through 2035+

Stunning. Cinnamon, brown sugar, acid, density. It sucks when you describe it like that. — 7 months ago

Mysterium Pinot Noir/Blanc de Noir 2020

Buttery and just a bit edgy after four years of aging. Some apricot. It’s real nice but I wouldn’t wait any longer.

It works with soft cheese & fig jam.

I love this wine. So good and so unique. Nose is so mineral. Hint of butter as well. Some smoke and flintiness as well. Palate is racy, rich and so pure. Great focus and length. So clean. This wine could get a stain out of a carpet. Superb freshness, concentration and purity. Long and sapid. — 3 years ago

@Andrew Schirmer with air it’s really come alive. More cut and finesse. I want to age some but I never do.
