Because who doesn’t love to celebrate national Cab Franc day? @rudiuswines is Brittany & Jeff Ames label. Jeff was an early understudy to Thomas Brown, working on Schrader, Maybach, and Outpost amongst others while he developed his own client list, including Tor Kenward, Boich, and Anthem. It’s worth noting that the wines Jeff has produced for Tor have been some of my favorites for at least a decade.
The 2014 Rudius Cabernet Franc Sugarloaf Vineyard Napa Valley envelopes your plate with a captivating display of mouthwatering raspberry, savory loam, sweet tobacco, and just the right hint of bell pepper before the cocoa powder dusted finish rocks your world. Delicious is an understatement. This was so spectacular I opened it two nights in a row (run don’t walk to Sunshine and steal it for $40). #delicious #rediculouslydelicious — 5 years ago
Big fruit and oak on the nose. Cherry, blueberry, dense and oaky. Great structure! Tasting great now with still an hour decant. — 4 years ago
Fruity nose, healthy blackberries on the palate, probably peaking now @12yrs, points for <15% — 4 years ago
Yeah, it smells like new world Grenache (a little rhubarb and tangy red berries), but with a little plumpness and fat dark berries that reminds me fleetingly of Alexander Valley Merlot. Round and flavorful, very satisfying flavors to go with my 🌮s. A little peppery heat at the end. — 5 years ago
Birthday red for the birthday girl 🍷 all made possible by the people’s champ, @Ron R 🙌🏻 thanks for sending this our way, sir - it’s some seriously delicious juice. I gave it one smell and thought to myself, “This is a 94/100 wine.” Glad to see my initial (and final) assessment was on par with most of yours.
Intoxicating notes of mulled plums, blackberries and blueberries, all baked together with anise, melted Mexican chocolate, and dried vanilla bean. Beautiful, luscious mouthfeel with a velvety finish. This is a winner. — 4 years ago

After enjoying Realm and Rudius Farrella cabs, decided to try the bottling form the source. Excellent wine. Floral and red and black fruit on the nose. Great mouthfeel, smooth and a bit chalky. For a 2018 very easy to drink. 30 min decant. Really enjoyable at a great price. — 2 years ago
