Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2005
The 2005 Latour is a huge wine predestined for long-term aging. Noticeably deep in color, it has a showstopping bouquet with intense black fruit, graphite and touches of dried blood and tobacco as it considers moving into its secondary phase. But that's going to be slow coming...it's in no hurry. The palate is medium-bodied and unapologetically classic in style. I notice this bottle is a little grainy in texture, the salinity perhaps heightened as it enters adulthood. The finish has a tangible sense of tension, but it remains backward and swarthy. Immense. Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1988
Boxing day treat with the wife. Pretty much the quintessential "claret." Maybe slightly faded now and on a slow path away from excellent but still lots to enjoy and i love drinking a wine with some history! Had the Lafite from the same vintage and that was slightly more my taste. Paired amazing with roast pheasant. — 9 months ago

The 2021 Red Westberg bursts from the glass with crushed raspberries and plums complemented by violet candies, baking spice and hints of clove. Seamlessly silky in character, the Westberg compensates with crisp red and blue fruits, all contrasted by hints of blood orange. It cleans up beautifully, tactile and long with a tinge of tart citrus and a savory herbal flourish over a coating of edgy tannins.
