2015 vintage. Hoo boy, is this delivering! Bigger tannins and more concentration throughout. Still a baby tho. Park it at a subterranean level in the cellar for a 15-20 spot. If you just gotta drink it in the next half-decade, you're best off decanting at lunchtime for dinnertime presentation. 5.1.24. — a month ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Best on Day 2 after it brightened up. The 2008 pours a deep garnet with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of blackberry compote, coffee, Werther’s Chocolate, tobacco leaf, leather, teriyaki, demi-glace, and dry earth. On the palate the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finish is long and slightly savory. This is delicious and has to be one of the great values in Ribera del Duero. Drink now through 2032+. — a month ago
La Rioja Alta, “Viña Ardanza” Rioja Reserva, 2016 🇪🇸
🍇Tempranillo 80%, Garnacha 20%
😋 Cherries and dried red fruits, vanilla, leather, and spice.
🕰️The term 'Reserva' on the label indicates this Spanish wine was aged for a minimum of 3 years, with at least 1 year spent in the barrel.
✅ Pretty bold with a clean acidity, this🍷tastes great now but could also age for a few more years. — 5 days ago

Poured into a decanter about 30 minutes prior to service; no formal notes. Wow. The 1996 Reserva is showing so well. I would place it in the vinous category but it’s far from tasting “old”. I shared this bottle with a group of experienced, expensive California Cabernet drinkers and it was universally enjoyed even though it could only be described as a traditional expression of Rioja Reserva. Well-stored examples (though few exist at this point), are drinking well now. What a lovely surprise. — 5 days ago
