Very nice wine. On the nose a mixture of mostly red fruits, sweet floral aroma; palate with crunchy red fruit, good acidity and length. On the palate there initially was a strong taste of what I best describe as potpourri; almost like a Christmas candle. Initially this was too much for me. I let the bottle sit for 48 hours and revisited, and it was much more integrated. I think a few years of aging might benefit. — 2 months ago
Very nice chambourcin. Rose petals and spiced nose. Moderate body, slightly sweet with cherries, raspberries, strawberries and spice. Soft finish. Drinkable on opening and day 2. — 2 years ago
This really does have Chambolle character. See Lyle’s notes. Light in color, bright, some tea notes but for the most part beautiful fruit, touch cherry, raspberry, citrus… and very soft tannins - days later under my Argon line- faint prune plum. Wouldn’t age this - it is perfect now! — 6 months ago
Every wine from Martin Woods is a treat. Grassy, lemony nose, almond candy in the background, mineral, white/yellow flowers, stone fruits.
Very interesting cooperage, both French and Oregonian oak. But, no buttah.
A crisp mouthful indeed, delicate.
As it warms it fills out. Never heavy.

Super mineral nose with discreet framing oak. Lemon flesh. Some rainer cherries. Saline and iodine. Subtle yet focused and incredibly complex nose. Such nice earth and mineral tones. Smells like Burgundy of yesteryear. Palate is so lean, salty and concentrated with a lingering hint of complex sweetness from the wood on the incredibly persistent finish. So juicy and leaning on the palate and just laser focused. So long. This has much more to give and has closed down a bit since I tasted it last. But a stunner. I’ll be back as it airs.
After 4 hours this is a wonder and has opened beautifully. Clear barely ripe granny smith apple, stunning mineral breadth and some white flowers. Palate is so juicy and saline. Luscious. It’s loosened up quite a bit. Long, structured finish. Super juicy. Fantastic. — 3 years ago

While I love my local Chardonnay this guy is the hands down best domestic Chardonnay I've had in 2025. It has everything you could ask for - elegant fruit, balanced acid, silky texture without being insipid, and deep stone and mineral like you just dunked your head into a glacial stream. This is awesome stuff and I recommend you seek it out. — 10 days ago
