Off to the right bank and the most affordable top notch Pomerol that isn’t Petrus - VCC. Opened up with a bouquet of graphite, truffles and dark fruits that was reflected perfectly in the palate. Good structure and finish but I kind of expected it to develop a bit more given the character and charm out of the gate. Great experience overall. — 4 years ago
Ready to drink just after opening but improves immensely after a few hours of decant.
Fresh black currants & pencil shavings with a savoury green pepper note. So fresh on the palate, with a wonderful presence on the mid palate and very fine, dusty & juicy tannins. Fantastic drinkability. This is in a very fine moment right now - so delicious! — 4 years ago
Didn’t think I was a Pinot Grigio gal til i started drinking the real stuff from Italy. Loves this especially at the price ($12 at Costco). Refreshing, crisp apples, tart, acidic bite, rather dry. Would love to have again. Great on a warm summer day — 4 years ago
Decided to give this one another go since I liked it so much last time. Didn’t detect as much cooking oil viscosity as last time but it’s still quite rich. Stimulating bouquet with layered scents of mixed red and black fruit (red cherry & plum, blackberry, fresh bramble), strong savory notes of aged leather, mushroom, game, and barnyard-y smells, spicy oak notes of cloves, cedar, and smoke… and I think I detect some anise seed and sandalwood? On the palate more red n black fruit together including red cherry, blackberry, and blueberry, notable black pepper lingering with smoothed out but grippy tannins on a medium finish. This would probably age well; still a fantastic value for a Friday night from Jura the Underdog — 4 years ago
Saline/floral nose. Grippy palate, no flab. Mineral. Texture is fabulous. Really an unsung Tempier (in the words of @Anthony Lombardi). Perfect with herby spanikopita & marinated lamb. — 4 years ago
What a color. So distinctive and ridiculously good. Cool climate fruit part of the spectrum, sour cherry, red plum and wild strawberry, blood orange, some blue and purple berries too, meeting with herbal stemmy whole cluster kind of stuff, flowers and game and chalk. Makes me wish I had a whole case but sadly only one bottle — 4 years ago

Very rich flavours, heavy body. Dark red colour. Little bit more acid than expected, but still well balanced. — 4 years ago
