#toro #tempranillo - big brambly fruit nose, decent acidity and the 14.5% ABV doesn’t show through in heat, some dark chocolate notes and plush tannins in the finish that linger on the palate. Not much complexity but a good Spanish red made in the modern higher-extraction style. — 5 years ago
Termanthia’s younger brother. Monster wine. Intense. Dark plum, dark cherry, blackberry, spice, smoky and meaty, espresso notes, cocoa, black pepper. Fleshy and firm tannins, though well-integrated. Nice acidity, keeps it balanced. Looooong lasting finish. Still very young, but quite approachable. Started out a bit “tight”, but opened up beautifully after a 3-hour decant. This wine has enough backbone to last at least 15+ years. #Termes #Numanthia #Toro #Spain 🇪🇸🍷 — 8 years ago

#toro #tempranillo love the nose, cedar rhubarb and blackberries. Less depth and color than I would expect from Toro. Slightly scratchy texture, fine and long finish. Excellent quality. — 10 years ago
Cedar notes. Solid #toro #winelibrary value “discard” from a high end producer. — 6 years ago
13 years in and still a joy (with a good bit of life left if you want to hold). Aromas of jammy black cherry and bacon fat. Lush cherry and blueberry backed with licorice and mocha, moderate buoying acidity and still-firm tannins. Yum! #tintadetoro #toro #spanishwine — 8 years ago
Tinto from #toro requires meat or super rich vegetables. If you play it right have both. 2nd night wine to boot. Super rich. Great structure. It is a complete wine. Plays nicely from start to finish. This is young at 10. — 9 years ago
Dense, big, #redwine from #toro Javier Rodriguez searches out a real gem. I like it. I think Toro needs to be big and bold. #spanishwine — 10 years ago
Plum, blackberry, rich but refined with very full grain and ripe tannin that meshes well with the full, but not overblown Toro style of wine. I had this from a 3L a few days before and it was much more open and naturally in a better place being open and decanted naturally as this was near the end of the 3L.
Top 3 producer for me in the region.
American, French and Hungarian oak, 70-30 or 60-40 French to American, Hungarian <1%. 200k bottles of production.

Ripe and smooth #toro #tempranillo I enjoy this wine because I feel that it’s representative of what and how Toro is. The clone #tintadetoro has thick skins and more tannin and ages beautifully. — 5 years ago
I like unoaked #Toro and #Roble Toro wines when they’ve aged in the bottle for at least 18 months. The tannins smooth out and the fruit stays strong and pure. This is an affordable and juicy #Tempranillo wine. My suggestion, look for older vintages or cellar it awhile — 6 years ago
#toro #tempranillo deep ruby intense aromas of toast, cedar and dark chocolate. Lacking body on the mid palate and a bit chewy finish. — 10 years ago
