Allright! My one thousandth posted wine on Delectable. And just the right occasion to do so. We are sitting here in a tent in the middle of the bush of South Africa sipping a Shiraz of Anthonij Rupert from Stellenbosch. Fresh, uplifting Shiraz that drinks more like a cool climate Syrah. Strong oak tannins fighting with the dry red cherry, fig fruit. Cheers!!! Up to the next thousand…. Wow what was that sound 😳 — 3 years ago

From a 16 acre vineyard in the hills of Bel Air. Probably the most expensive vineyard property in the US. It’s currently owned by Rupert Murdoch, but this is from before his purchase in 2013. This is legit good. Much better than any Malibu wines I’ve had. 13.8 listed alcohol and fairly restrained style. Let’s rip down all of those mansions and plant some grapes! — 4 years ago

This Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa is very easy drinking. Soft and nuanced, it presents blackberry jam, cocoa, wet stone, and mint. The finish is long with fine tannins. Not bad on its own, but really delicious with NY strip steaks.
